We currently have an opportunity for a full – time Senior Financial Analyst, External Reporting to join our Finance department based out of our office(s) in Stellarton, NS or Mississauga, ON for a 12-month contract.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

•    Review the MD&A for the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee and Board of Directors
•    Prepare and review annual documents such as Management Information Circular and Annual Information Form
•    Prepare and coordinate distribution of the Quarterly Report
•    Coordinate and review French translation of all external documents with a third-party
•    Review monthly and annual Statistics Canada surveys and inquiries
•    Research and benchmark industry competitors
•    Develop and manage various reports using several software platforms including but not limited to SAP, Insight Software, BW, BPC, etc.
•    Assist in reviews of cost center budgets, account reconciliations and account analysis
•    Provide excellent level of customer service to all levels of the business
•    Actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities in terms of systems and processes
•    Work with external auditors quarterly during reviews and audits
•    Communicate and work in a collaborative manner to resolve senior management questions
•    Collaborate with members of the other internal Finance teams
•    Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO Certification requirements
•    Complete special projects and ad hoc reports as assigned
 

What you have to offer:

 

•    Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Accounting/Finance, Proficient in GAAP/IFRS
•    A relevant university degree (Business with a focus in Accounting, Finance, etc.)
•    Professional designation (CPA and/or MBA) is an asset but not required
•    Strong computer skills; Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), SAP and BW skills
•    Strong attention to detail and grammar to produce high-quality documents
•    Proven time management, organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
•    Ability to anticipate issues and recommend appropriate actions
•    Able to work in a team environment and help train others
•    Strong analytical skills and the ability to use multiple computerized systems to compile useful information
•    Excellent communication skills to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences and levels of management
•    Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and under limited supervision with a strong attention to detail
•    Ability to manage highly sensitive information and situations involving internal and external customers
•    Intuitive approach to Continuous Improvement
•    Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset, but is not required.
