The Opportunity

Nova Scotia Power (NSP) is a full-service utility operating in all aspects of the electricity supply chain in Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Finance and also responsible to Emera’s Chief Digital Officer, the Vice President of Information Technology leads the development and implementation of NSP’s digital transformation, with a focus on building cross-department partnerships and digital capabilities to enable and help deliver business strategy. Enterprise priorities include safety, customer experience, decarbonization, decentralization, innovation, affordability, and reliability. In this role, cybersecurity and data management are crucial deliverables.

As the Ideal Candidate you:

  • Have an undergraduate degree in a related technology field. A graduate degree in technology, information management, or business (MBA) is an asset.
  • Have a successful track record as a leader and subject matter expert in cutting-edge technology design and implementation with 6+ years in a senior management role within a complex, customer-focused environment.
  • Bring exceptional project management skills and proven experience implementing best in class IT and digital infrastructure.
  • Will design and see the vision for business growth, while also understanding the tactical and technical aspects of getting it actioned.
  • Are highly strategic and visionary and equally comfortable leading a team through all aspects of execution.
  • Are known for communicating broadly and often, both to technical and non-technical partners, preferably in a matrix environment.
  • Are a highly professional, influential leader who operates with integrity and authenticity.
