As the Sr. Manager of Discount Merchandising Analytics, you will be joining the discount organization as a team leader to help integrate data driven insights for the discount merchandising team. This role offers the opportunity to present up, build, design and deploy solutions around optimization of promotions while delivering meaningful value to our customers and to the business. You’ll take on a manager role within our team and others; helping to bridge the gaps of Promotional Optimization, DI&A, Category Merchandising, and Finance/LE teams in order to help deliver our business’ objectives.

 

Scope:

 

Reporting to the Director of Discount Merchandising Analytics, this role is responsible for managing the integration of promotion & shelf optimization within Discount. You will be the senior lead and instrumental in supporting, influencing, and recommending promo optimization with the category teams. You will have support to help facilitate as you build confidence and trust with leadership in the concepts of; data as an asset, promo & shelf optimization tools, and CSD metrics within the merchandising teams.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Be the voice of the Discount Division when working with DI&A teams to build business centric tools for the division. Tools include: ABI, Promo Optimization workflow, rollup files, Ad planners, collective planning and others.
  • Work cross-functionally with Discount Merchandising Teams with DI&A and P&P to give meaningful recommendations on promo optimization to the leadership team.
  • Become fluent and educate the concepts of CSD, (Cost per sales dollar) as it related to promotional planning.
  • Help drive meaningful adoption throughout the discount division of Promo/Shelf Price Optimization and CSD through training and feedback
  • Lead and inform leadership while providing central reporting and analysis of our key business metrics (Sales, Margin, Tonnage) along with ad hoc reporting in order to provide better promotional insights.

 

Does this sound like you?

  • 2-4 years’ experience in Loblaw preferably in merchandising or merchant supporting roles.
  • In-depth understanding of promotion tactics would be an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree or a related technical field/experience.
  • Creative problem solver, resourceful in getting things done, productive working independently or collaboratively, and general project management skills.
  • You enjoy the data-centric parts of solving problem and have strong presentation skills.
  • Experience with Excel, and presenting you own PowerPoint content
