Responsibilities
Tasks
- Conduct research
- Ensure products and work methods maximize safety, productivity and comfort
- Study, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomics hazards and stresses in the workplace and suggest changes to work processes
- Provide information to workers and managers/employers on methods to reduce the risk of injury or illness
- Prepare patent applications
- Advise clients on elements of patent law and on the patentability of inventions
- Provide consulting services to government and other organizations
- Prepare research papers, educational texts or articles
- Establish internal programs within schools, business and industry to promote responsible attitudes towards the environment
- Provide information to the public through newspaper and magazine columns, articles and radio commentaries
